My name is Susanne Parker and I live in Ewell, near Epsom, Surrey. I started my career as a teacher in a Sixth Form College and then became qualified as a counsellor. My working experience has been both among students and adults who have relationship problems, or are suffering bereavement, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, lack of confidence and other difficulties.
I have worked for various agencies, such as Jigsaw, the Woman’s Centre, the Bereavement Centre, an NHS Hospital, in colleges as well as with private clients.
My counselling room is in my home, which allows for a comfortable, discreet, confidential and personal atmosphere. I live about 5 minutes walk from Ewell East Station on the Victoria line, and 15 minutes walk from Ewell West, the Waterloo line. Bus routes are also nearby. By car it is within easy reach of Epsom, Stoneleigh, Chessington, Cheam, Sutton, Ashtead, Leatherhead, Tolworth, Surbiton and Kingston.
I use a variety of approaches according to whatever is appropriate for each individual in order to achieve the most successful outcome. My working method, therefore, is "integrative". Some clients have deep seated issues which go back to their childhood, others want and need quick results, a change of perception perhaps, or in their circumstances or behaviour. Thus the terms and length of the counselling therapy is entirely individual.
My rates are reasonable, £50.00 per hour (for couples it is £55), and there is a sliding scale because through my agency work I have seen how many people urgently need counselling, but cannot afford high rates.
