I am a member of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy), with full insurance and I am in continuous professional supervision. As a member of BACP I follow their ethical guidelines.
I have worked for 20 years as a 6th Form College teacher and an Examiner for two London Exam Boards, as well as a counsellor. This has given me an insight into the complicated situation for students and their specific pressures.
My work in the Women’s Centre and Jigsaw has given me experience of the many complex situations women find themselves in and the urgent need for a sympathetic, empathetic, informed and neutral listener.
In the Bereavement Centre I have learnt to deal with the disabling pain of loss, and the many strands into the past which each case conjures up.
